MY TOUCH TO A WORLD MYSTERY

There are a few things which ‘GOOGLE’ cannot answer, like the paranormal activity!!
One such activity that is being exhibited right in facade us is the Bermuda triangle!!
(I have always hated math…..n geometry… omg isosceles or equilateral!!!). I’ve always wanted to do something on the Bermuda Triangle and at last I ended up coining this fantasy story (purely a fiction) to extinguish my desire. (Who said only Lutwidge Dodgson could pen down fantasy stories??). The world of fantasy is defined by the scope of the potentials and exceptions to those possibilities.
Okay, let me not drift away from the topic…when I was doing a literature survey on the ‘isle of devils’, the Bermuda triangle, I found a very interesting article about a swimmer from Florida who was hit by a very huge tide and taken away and he claimed to have seen a glass building….
And now, presenting you ‘’

He straightened himself and seemed to force out the next words.’ It was marvelous. I don have words to express what I just saw and felt, am over whelmed’ said the twenty four old Michael Scofield (Oh yeah!! Dedicated to my hero). Just like any other person was an ambitious young man. He hailed from a very humble family near the coast of Florida. And he had grown up listening to the stories of compasses going bizarre, ship crew perceiving red beautiful sparks in the horizon, sky turning pale pink and mysterious disappearance of vessels and aircrafts!! He had an inclination towards the dragon’s triangle and reason being that both his role models; his dad and his brother never returned back from the sea! He swore in the name of God that he would uncover the unknown!!

Michael had managed to get his degree with little efforts. He’s known for his charm and athletic physique! He was six foot tall, bony, athletic, long striding guy. His green eyes were set too close together. His nose, while straight, was exceedingly plain. He had a penchant towards the nature especially the sea. It was impossible to ignore him. He got his bachelor in marine engineering from Florida International University's College of Engineering located in Miami, about 13 miles south of Miramar.
Six months back he was appointed as one of the Marine/Maintenance trainee in Goldline 3 vessel. He took off from his hometown with a broad smile and a thirst to be quenched.
Michael loved the view from the deck of the ship of the churning sea which filled the horizon with hopes and desires. Michael loved the company of Alex. Everyday they talk endlessly about the infinite, mysterious sea and abut the triangle.
Alexander Mahone an engineer like Michael and his colleague. He got acquainted to Mike on the deck of the ship.
Mike noticed that Alex was unmoved, detached, occupied, preoccupied and has been caught himself lost in thoughts of his past several times. Both of them enjoyed the deep blue rolling sea. They met everyday at the deck silently enjoying the calm and enormous sea. Mike tried to comfort and distracts Alex from his misery for he seemed to be very disturbed. With every sip of double scotch, Alex lamented about his life. He spoke like the entire fell apart and there is no meaning for his existence. Mike tried his best drift his gloomy mood. It was all in vain. He drank with contempt, and when he was done, his eyes were glowing and they parted ways.
The next day Michael woke up with a start. Everyone was yelling at the top of their voice. Someone had jumped from the ship intentionally about five minutes back. To know the situation mike hurried to Alex room and found it empty. Mike rushed to the deck and learnt that it was Alex who jumped off the ship. Alex, who had been battling severe depression recently, had been drinking the previous night. He looked down, Alex was not yelling for help! He started to swim away from the sea, mike acted fast and jumped after him. Everyone on the board went hysterical and a boat was sent to rescue Alex and the rescuer.

Meanwhile in the dark deep ocean Michael was hit by an awfully colossal tide. He managed to survive and he did not know what that tide had in store for him. He was floating in the unforgiving sea for almost two hours. His mind was completely blocked with thoughts about Alex, his life, the world, the misery, the mystery, and the Bermuda triangle. The memories came rushing into mind, his father and brother leaving the coast and promising him to get an autograph of Bruce Willis. And then they never came back!!!

He resolved to solve the mystery. And he’s close to it. Suddenly his thoughts were disturbed by another mammoth tide which took to the other side. By the time he could regain his conscious, he could see not a single vessel in the sight. The horizon was so close that he could touch it by swimming 10 meters towards it. He watched it with his eyes bewildered. He tried to focus on what was happening to him, the sea and the world. He decided to take the risk and swam towards the most enchanting sight in the world – the horizon. The remembered the words of his father ‘For observers near the ground the difference between this geometrical horizon (which assumes a perfectly flat, infinite ground plane) and the true horizon (which assumes a spherical Earth surface) is typically imperceptibly small.’ ‘Yes, indeed small when compared to the size of the world’ he murmured to himself.

Meanwhile, Alex was rescued and by another vessel which spotted him in the sea. He was given first aid treatment and the crew decided to send him back. He enquired about Mike every one hour. He sat there thinking about how he had ruined his friend’s life. He cried his eyes out, so that the sea goddess could hear and give him back him friend, his life!!

When Mike got near the horizon, he started to hear all kind of vivid, vague, raucous and passionate resonance. He immediately dived into the sea following the echo. He unexpectedly noticed a glass circumference floating in mid sea deep beneath the horizon! The sound became clear as crystal. It sounded like Greek and Latin to him. He swam around the glass boundaries to find an entry, but there was nothing he could do to enter it. Out of the blue, he heard a banging noise and the glass bounds started opening up a layer by stretching the glasses aside….. It was studded was stones, beautiful stones which sparkled and in fraction on seconds he could see what was happening above the sea. It was jus a television. A freighter plane has crossed the boundaries and was broken into crumbs which were beautifully portrayed in the glass shield which was beaming.
He realized where he was, THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE! He did know what to do or where to move. Fear crept inside him silently and he waited. Again he heard a roaring noise, this time not a plane or vessel but a big ray of light glowing from the inside of the glass country. The shield opened up and mike swam right into the center. He could the entire universe in the number of stone studded sheets, so huge, so magnificent that he almost forgot to take breathe for a second. There were so many other galaxies which looked like a grand wheel with small rich vibrant dots in the dark background. It was just like a black cloth studded with rubies and diamonds and stones of different colors. He had never seen anything as extravagant as this. The dazzling stars shining distinctly, other planets both small and huge flooded with aliens. And then there was this beautiful unexpected big shield. There were huge mountains, glaciers oceans, so familiar and dramatic. Mike thought that there existed another planet just like the earth!! The next image was a picture of two men 6 foot tall near the Alps; this made his realize that he was seeing the earth all this time. Nothing could be as beautiful as this. All of a sudden, one of the planet’s slide changed shape and became fuzzy and a thin ray of indigo light from the earth’s Himalayan region emerged and flashed into the wooly planet and then it was clear.

Mike then realized that he was unable to breathe and started to swim out of it. The shields stood in his way, his time was running out, he was almost choking and the shield opened. Another ship had lost its way and ended up as dust. He came out of the glass country and started to swim across the country!!!

And after two days, he was found by a cruise!

Alex was smiling. Mike was first received by Alex at the port. Alex had tears in his eyes when he met him! All his worries and miseries vanished in thin air.
‘Welcome Home, my friend’ he said thickly.
Mike couldn’t suppress himself from narrating the events that had happened to him! He could see Alex’s eyes whorl of astonishment. If there is anyone who could believe his tale, then it has to him!

Alex patted him on his back!! He arranged for a press meet so that the world could know what a real wonder is!
Mike got home after the press meet; he did not disclose everything. He skipped the Himalayan and the shields projecting other planets. He answered all questions intelligently so that it doesn’t raise another question.

It was all like a dream for him. He joined Alex at his den and briefly discussed the press meeting. Mike wiped the bottle, unscrewed the cap, rose and tipped it to the glass. They celebrated the evening.
He was on all channels all over the world. Everyone recognized him for he had solved the Bermuda problem!!
Later, he served in the navy for ten years and then decided to take up teaching as his profession.

“Really, Alex?” mike was saying with repressed excitation.
“I only know what’s on the publicity release in front of me “repeated Alex.

“Well, the, read it to me,” said Mike. “I just want to get all the facts straight.”
Mike could hear the remote paper rustle in Alex’s hand, and he listened, eyes closed to contemplate better.
On Wednesday 4h of September after evening prayers a large noise was heard in the sky followed by the sighting of an intense large light heading from the west above a region east of the capital of Kashmir. Many locals had seen meteors prior to this but claimed this one did not fit the description at all: it was a blue green color and was shooting out green lasers (flashes?). One witness, Kailash, commented, ‘No one has ever seen anything like it’.
Locals in the region where the object appeared to be heading claim they heard an explosion and felt a large tremor indicating that the object crashed. The Indian government has not released information regarding the crash site but is reported to have sealed the area.
“Does it ring a bell, Mike?”
“That sounds familiar!! Let’s meet for dinner Alex, see you at seven “mike hung up.
“All right. I’ll be there”.
They met at the Grace View restaurant not far away from the port. They exchanged greetings and ordered their dinner.
Alex said aloud. “Question. Is that the same place?”
“Without a doubt. It googled the place. It was just like the one I saw. Am very sure about it.”
“Well, then I did a bit of research on that. The UFO belongs to the planet named Samarpan which was identified by an Indian Scientist Hrishikesh Iyer 20 years back”.
“Samarpan?” repeated Mike. A sudden spark came to his mind. He opened his laptop and googled the distance from Earth to Samarpan.
“0.0000000000026”.
“What?” said Alex who was utterly puzzled?
“Samarpan is 0.0000000000026 light years away from the Earth. So it is approximately 12 years and 20 days. I resigned from the navy on August 15th 2006, 2 years of teaching that is august 15th 2009 plus 20 days. That is 4th September 2009. This was yesterday!!! “.
Mike heard his strained silence.
“I just don’t believe it Mike. The earth communicated with Samarpan. And allowed it to enter?” He sat, holding the spoon with both hands, trying to sort out his astonishment and disbelief.
“Do you have a better explanation?”
Now, thinking it through, beyond the spinning bewilderment, he began to see that his accomplishment with the triangle- how special he was!
“I’ll tell you what I think,” said Alex.
Sunlight had invaded the room, and touched him and heightened the sense of serenity. At the window, he parted the drapes and lifted her gaze to the eternal horizon, the deep blue sea. Silently, he thanked them for the miraculous life.
Now, there ends the story. Hope you liked it
